Thanks Katoomba and Upper Blue Mountains Community Bendigo Bank Branch!
MFC is very grateful to have been selected to receive a grant from Katoomba and Upper Blue Mountains Community Bendigo Bank Branch to buy a club laptop!
This generous support allows us to use the competition software Fencing Time to offer our fencers high quality competition experience as a component of their learning. Fencing Time ensures the smooth running of the events, allowing us to expand our comps this year to invite fencers from other clubs, and helps our members develop familiarity with how comps are run at the state and national levels, so they can feel confident when attending those events.
Having a club laptop also allows us to lend it to members so that they can learn the software. This will help our members learn new skills, be able to participate in running our club comps, and have the skills and experience needed to be able to assist at other regional, state or national comps.
We were delighted to receive the kind phone call from Peter Carroll, chair of the Sponsorship Committee, Katoomba and Upper Blue Mountains Community Bendigo Bank Branch, followed by a letter in which he writes:
"The Board is pleased to support a rather unique sport in the Mountains that provides opportunities for individuals to learn the noble art of fencing while participating in physical activity, social interaction and skills development. We wish you continued success in your Club's activities."
Thanks Katoomba and Upper Blue Mountains Community Bendigo Bank Branch, for helping MFC expand opportunities for engagement in, and enjoyment of, sport for fencers in the Blue Mountains!
