LGBTQI+ inclusion – MYST and MFC!

MFC collaborated with MYST to welcome LGBTQI+ young people to a 'come and try fencing' event in July. The event was supported by a grant which the AFF received from Sport Australia, in partnership with Pride in Sport Australia. 

We enjoyed meeting the enthusiastic MYST crew and had a great night of fun and fierceness covering the basics of foil, learning footwork and bladework skills, bouting and refereeing, and finished up the night by sharing dinner together. Since then we've been pleased to welcome some fencers from this group as new MFC members!

MFC is committed to working with our team and our members to create a safe and inclusive training environment for all.
