MFC does Ironfest
in April MFC headed to Portland for Ironfest to set up camp and raise awareness of fencing and the Club. We brought weapons for demonstration, chatted to lots of people, fenced bouts on the lawn, and had a fantastic time!
It was a joyful weekend with people attending from all over, dressed in costume and enjoying everything this amazing festival has to offer.
A gigantic THANK YOU to Winnie, Gus and Jasmine for organising and manning the stall for the whole weekend, and to Kath, Soph, Jasmine, and Alessandra for fencing multiple bouts. Thanks to Ollie for a cameo appearance and for being a great sport when the girls wouldn't return his swords! And thanks to Gus for the great photos!
If we do this again next year we have some more fun ideas involving the plastic sword and possibly some light sabering. Bring on Ironfest 2025!
