Go Jemima! Championing fencing and peer learning!

School playground with low trees in the background. Jemima, on the left, wearing long black pants, cyan sneakers, white fencing jacket and foil lamé demonstrates a fencing lunge. Her peer, on the right, dressed on school uniform, tries a lunge, holding a fencing foil. A fencing mask lies on the ground.

There's an infectious enthusiasm for fencing in this Club.

This week one of our wonderful young fencers introduced her whole class at school to our unique and beautiful sport. She initiated the demonstration, organised the lesson with her teacher and her peers loved it.

They said she's a natural! Insightful, enthusiastic and brimming with knowledge (and from the pic above with pretty good technique too!).

Go Jemima! We're so proud to have you fencing with us!

And well done coaches, fencers, and volunteers for creating a space where such vibrant enthusiasm can find such a welcoming home. With enthusiasm and dedication like this there are great things ahead for us.

And just to finish, here's a great pic from the day of Jemima showing off her 2020 club badge. Cool!

Jemima stands in the playground, wearing long black pants, cyan sneakers, white fencing jacket and foil lamé. She holds a fencing foil, pointing down, in her left hand. She wears a fencing glove on her right hand and points to the patches sewn to her left sleeve. The top one is a round orange one with purple border and MFC in white, below it is a rectangular black one with a pewter border and MFC, MM, XX stacked.
